- as a medium for the precultured spores of Prothalli of Adiantum capillus for the generation of protonemata[1]
- to promote germination and cotton cotyledon unfolding[2]
- as a solidified medium component for culturing A. capillus and as a component of selection medium for gametophyte selection after particle bombardment[3]
