Opis

General description

An inhibitor of skeletal and cardiac muscle contraction. A general reversible inhibitor of myosin ATPase in eukaryotes. A “chemical phosphatase,” which dephosphorylates acetylcholinesterase poisoned with organophosphates. Inhibits Ca²⁺ currents in adult rat cervical ganglion in a reversible and dose-dependent manner (IC₅₀ = 18.3 nM). Also shown to induce Ca²⁺ release from canine cardiac sarcoplasmic reticulum (SR).
