Tyloxapol is a biocompatible surfactant

A nonionic liquid polymer of the alkyl aryl polyether alcohol type. Used as a surfactant.

Application

Tyloxapol has been used in a study to assess the enhanced pulmonary absorption of recombinant human insulin. [1] It has also been used in a study to investigate the metabolic pathways promoting intrahepatic fatty acid accumulation in methionine and choline deficiency. [2]
