Application

Tyrphostin 47 has been used in LOPAC screening assays to identify human tissue transglutaminase (TGM2) inhibitors[1]. Tyrphostin 47 has also been used to study its effects on hyperpolarization-activated cation current in porcine pacemaker cells[2].

Biochem/physiol Actions

EGFR tyrosine kinase inhibitor.
Tyrphostin 23 is a small molecule inhibitor of epidermal growth factor (EGF) receptor kinase function. This molecule associates with the substrate subsite of the protein tyrosine kinase (PTK) domain[3],[4].

Preparation Note

Tyrphostin 47 is is soluble in DMSO (50 mg/ml) and yields a clear, orange solution. The product is also soluble in ethanol (40 mM).
