Opis

Application

Prednisone has been used in dimethyl sulfoxide stock suspension to inject into experimental mice and to analyze the effects of glucocorticoid steroid. It has also been used as a test drug, formulated with peanut butter to study the effects of daily administration of MIDD0301, by animal weight, organ weight and haematological analysis.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Prednisone is a synthetic glucocorticoid with anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive activity. It is useful in treating many disease states and has a half-life of 3.4 to 3.8 hours in plasma. Prednisone is metabolized to prednisolone, which is physiologically active.
