Opis

General description

Tetrabutylammonium hydroxide (TBAH) solution it is a strong organic base. It enables the dispersion of fatty acids in water at room temperature which allows the formation of emulsions and foams. TBAH is used as a titrant in the potentiometric titration of weak acids in non-aqueous media.

Application

Phase-transfer catalyst.

Tetrabutylammonium hydroxide solution may be used in the following processes:

• Synthesis of carbon doped TiO₂ (titanium dioxide).
• Synthesis of C₆₀ derivative-hydroxylated fullerene epoxide.
• As a hydrolysis controlling agent in the prearation of TiO₂ sol.
