Application

Amberlite IRA-67 free base can be used in anion exchange media. It has been used as an adsorbent for lactic acid extraction from aqueous solution, and for the extraction of rhinacanthin from Rhinacanthus nasutus leaves.
Weakly basic anion exchange resin with an unusually high capacity for large organics. Common applications include: deacidification, deionization of process liquors, isolation of acidic natural products, purification of novabiacin and cephalosporins, separation of neutral and acidic amino acids below pH 10, removal of heparinic acid at low pH, concentration of citric acid, and demineralization of cheese whey.

  1. Do we need to treat the resin using for example acetic acid or NaOH? And if can you also show me where I can find this information

    1. The IRA-67 resin is functionalized with tertiary amines rather than primary amines. To test the capacity, fresh resin in the free base form is required, or the resin can be regenerated using 4% NaOH or 4% NH4OH at a flow rate of 2-4 L/hr/L (0.25-0.5 gpm/cuft). This process will restore the resin to the free base form.
