General description

Il betametasone è un corticosteroide con attività antinfiammatoria e immunosoppressiva usato in modo particolare quando si vuole evitare la ritenzione idrica. Si effettua l′applicazione topica di crema, unguento, lozione o gel per il trattamento del prurito, dovuto per esempio a eczema. Corticosteroide usato per stimolare la maturazione del polmone nel feto e per ridurre l′incidenza e la mortalità da emorragia intracranica nei prematuri
