For all products, we recommend handling per defined conditions as printed in our product literature and website product descriptions. We recommend that products should be routinely inspected by customers to ensure they perform as expected.
For products without retest or expiration dates, our standard warranty of 1 year from the date of shipment is applicable.

General description
Questo tampone multifunzionale trova applicazione diffusa nel preservare la stabilità dell′ambiente di soluzione di soluzioni da impiegare in terreni di coltura cellulare, in formulazioni tamponate contenenti proteine e in tamponi di corsa per elettroforesi. Le sue qualità risultano importanti anche nei processi di purificazione di anticorpi, peptidi, proteine, componenti ematici e fattori di crescita. Il tampone MES si fa preferire come prima scelta anche in elettrocromatografia capillare, assicurando bassa mobilità ionica. Nello specifico, viene impiegato come alternativa più sicura rispetto ad agenti potenzialmente tossici come il tampone cacodilato e i tamponi zwitterionici, tra cui il tampone citrato e il tampone malato. Il tampone MES si rivela assai utile per la regolazione fine del pH nei mezzi di crescita, per la stabilizzazione di soluzioni enzimatiche e come componente di un tampone di corsa PAGE in diversi contesti sperimentali.

How is shipping temperature determined? And how is it related to the product storage temperature?

Products may be shipped at a different temperature than the recommended long-term storage temperature. If the product quality is sensitive to short-term exposure to conditions other than the recommended long-term storage, it will be shipped on wet or dry-ice. If the product quality is NOT affected by short-term exposure to conditions other than the recommended long-term storage, it will be shipped at ambient temperature. As shipping routes are configured for minimum transit times, shipping at ambient temperature helps control shipping costs for our customers. We test the solubility of Prod. No. M3671 at 20 grams in 80 mL of water. A clear, colorless solution is obtained. This concentration is not necessarily the upper solubility limit of MES in water.

Autoclaving is not recommended for any sulfonic acid buffer solution. Sterilization of a MES buffer solution can be accomplished by filtering it through a 0.2 micron filter.

The amount of water/moisture for MES (M3671) is tested by Karl Fisher and meets a specification of less than 1%. The other MES Hydrates offered have a specification of less than 9%.

A buffer using MES free acid can be prepared by titrating the free acid with sodium hydroxide to the desired pH. Alternatively, volumes of equimolar MES free acid and sodium MES can be mixed to attain the desired pH.
