The 86C and 86R kits are intended for use with adherent cells. The same applies to SCR004. The APF kit, a fluorescence-based kit, would be more suitable for use if trying to detect alkaline phosphatase in culture media.

Alkalische Leukozytenphosphatase (ALP)-Kits sind für den qualitativen Nachweis der Aktivität von alkalischer Phosphatase in weißen Blutkörperchen vorgesehen.
Peripheral blood or bone marrow preparations are fixed to a microscope slide. The film is then incubated in a mixture of naphthol AS-BI alkaline solution with fast blue BB. The resulting insoluble diffuse, blue dye deposit indicates sites of alkaline phosphatase activity.
