General description
Dipeptidylpeptidase IV (DPP IV), ein membranintegriertes Glykoprotein vom Dimertyp II, gehört zur Familie der prolylspezifischen Proteasen. Es wird im Epithel- und Nichtepithelgewebe reichlich exprimiert. Es wird in Niere und Darm stark exprimiert.[1]

Dipeptidylpeptidase IV (DPP IV) steuert insulinstimulierende Hormone, glucagonähnliche Peptide (GLP-1) und glukoseabhängige insulinotrope Polypeptide (GIP). Es ist ein vielversprechendes Therapieziel für Typ-2-Diabetes (T2DM).[2] Zusätzlich zu seiner katalytischen Wirkung fungiert DPP-4 auch als Bindeprotein und Ligand extrazellulärer Faktoren.[3] Die DPP-4-Hemmung bewirkt eine längere Aktivität von GLP-1 und GIP, weshalb DPP-4-Hemmer zur Aufrechterhaltung der Glucosehomöostase beitragen. DPP IV-Hemmer können die glykämische Kontrolle über einen längeren Zeitraum als frühe orale hypoglykämische Mittel verbessern.[4]

This product as provided at a concentration of 4 mM. The working concentration recommendations are 10 μl/mL of whole blood or 20 μl/mL of buffer, plasma, serum, or tissue culture medium. These are general usage recommendations, the optimal concentration is application- and/or system-dependent. The final working concentration should be empirically determined by the end user.
