It is suggested to prepare the staining solution with a 1:10,000 dilution of this product in one of the following buffers:
• 1x TE buffer (10 mM Tris-HCl with 1 mM EDTA, pH 8.0)
• 1x TBE buffer (89 mM Tris base, 89 mM boric acid, and 1 mM EDTA, pH 8.0)
• 1x TAE buffer (40 mM Tris-acetate with 1 mM EDTA, pH 8.0)
Note: The buffer should not have been used previously for electrophoresis for optimal results. For optimal sensitivity, verify that the pH is between 7.5 and 8.0 (preferably pH 8.0) as SYBR Green I is pH sensitive.

Product S9430, SYBR® Green I nucleic acid gel stain, will poorly stain DNA containing deaza-G modified nucleotides in place of guanisine. A way around this issue would be to use a mixture of deaza-G modified nucleotides with guanisine. This will allow for better staining.
