Beschreibung

General description

Ein neues Diterpen-Triepoxid, das aus dem chinesischen Kraut Tripterygium wilfordii isoliert wurde und als potentes Immunsuppressivum und entzündungshemmendes Mittel wirkt. Löst die Apoptose in Tumorzellen aus, indem es die DEVD-spaltenden Caspasen aktiviert. Sensibilisiert Tumorzellen für TNF-α-induzierte Apoptose und hemmt TNF-α-induzierte Aktivierung von NF-κB. Hemmt auch die IL-2-Expression von T-Zellen auf der Ebene der Purin-Box/Nuclear Factor aktivierter T-Zellen und die transkriptionelle Aktivierung von NF-κB. Hemmt Berichten zufolge auch die mitogenaktivierte Proteinkinasephosphatase-1 (MKP-1).
