Beschreibung

General description

Ein Peptidylhydroxamat-basierter Inhibitor vom Typ Marimastat (Katalognr. 444289), der ein breites Spektrum von Metallproteinasen, einschließlich MMP-1, MMP-2, MMP-3/Stromelysin, MMP-7/Matrilysin, MMP-9, ΔMT1 (MMP-14 ohne TM-Domäne), ADAM8 und ADAM17/TACE (IC₅₀ = 3, 4, 20, 6, 4, 2,08, 51,3 bzw. 19 mmol/l) hemmt, indem er sowohl auf die Substratbindungsstelle als auch Zn²⁺ des aktiven Zentrums abzielt, wobei er gegen ACE (Angiotensin-konvertierendes Enzym) oder α-Sekretase deutlich weniger wirksam ist (IC₅₀ = 1,6 bzw. 3,3 µmol/l). Batimastat wird verbreitet zum Untersuchen der Beteiligung von MMP an der Karzinogenese und pathologischen Prozessen, die nicht Krebs sind, sowohl in Kulturen in vitro als auch bei Tieren in vivo eingesetzt. Auch als 25-mmol/l-Lösung in DMSO erhältlich (Katalognr. 508408).
