Biochem/physiol Actions

2-Brom-2-chlor-1,1,1-trifluorethan ist ein Inhalationsanästhetikum. In einer Wirkung, die als unabhängig von der Anästhesie erachtet wird, hemmt Halothan die Synthese von 5-Hydroxytryptamin in Hirngewebe, wahrscheinlich im Tryptophanhydroxylase-Schritt.
