General description
Biochem/physiol Actions
Glucagon-like peptide 2 (GLP-2) plays a key role in the stimulation of intestinal epithelial proliferation.[3] It possesses intestinotrophic endocrine/paracrine actions.[2] GLP-2 is essentially a nutrition absorption regulator and an intestinal-specific trophic factor. It exhibits anti-inflammatory effects.[1]
Glycogen-like peptide-2 (GLP-2) is involved in a range of processes in vivo including intestinal growth, reduction in bone breakage appetite and neuroprotection. GLP-2 human and GLP-2 rat may be used to study these and other processes.
