An organic nitrate compound that acts as an NO donor in vivo following reductive transformation of the nitrate group to nitric oxide.
SE 175 is a nitrate compound that belongs to the same class as nitroglycerine. It acts as a vasodilator and has clinical use in the treatment of angina. NO donors also confer neuroprotection and relieve neuropathic pain.[1]
