Biochem/physiol Actions
Prostaglandin E1 (PGE1) ist ein Hormon, das aus Dihomo-γ-Linolensäure (DGLA) durch die Wirkung des Enzyms Prostaglandin-Synthase synthetisiert wird. Es ist ein Vasodilatator und aktiviert die Adenylatzyklase. Es kommt hauptsächlich in menschlichem Sperma vor und ist ein potenter Thrombozytenaggregationshemmer. PGE1-Infusionen sind bei der Behandlung von Gliedmaßenischämie und peripheren Gefäßerkrankungen wirksam. PGE1 ist instabil und wird in der Lunge zu PGA1 hydrolysiert. Die Verkapselung von PGE1 in Nanopartikeln ist für die Verabreichung an die vaskuläre Verletzungsstelle unerlässlich. PGE1 löst bei einem Zentralarterienverschluss (CRAO) gefäßerweiternde Wirkungen auf die Netzhautarterie und -vene aus.[1] PGE1 und sein synthetisches Analogon Misoprostol interagieren mit dem E-Prostanoid-Rezeptor 4 (EP4) und bewirken einen Schutz bei chronisch-myeloischer Leukämie (CML).

What are the recommended storage temperature conditions for Prostaglandin E1 (P5515) when dissolved in acetone?

The solubility test is designed to ensure the product is free of foreign bodies or other unsoluble substances. Acetone was choosen for the solubility test because appears to have higher solubility in acetone than it does in ethanol. The Quality department will dissolve the product in acetone and discard the solution once the solubility test is complete. So there is no data for what is the preferred storage temperature and length of storage if using acetone as the solvent.
