General description
Neuraminidase ist ein Glycosid-Hydrolase-Enzym, das die Hydrolyse von terminalen Sialinsäurerückständen katalisiert. Die bekanntesten Neuraminidasen sind virale Neuraminidasen, die die Freisetzung des Influenzavirus fördern.
Application
Neuraminidase aus Vibrio cholerae wurde in einer Studie zur Beurteilung seiner Rolle bei der Bindung und Aufnahme von Choleratoxin durch empfängliche Zellen eingesetzt. [1] Darüber hinaus wurde es in einer Studie zur Untersuchung eines Natriumsubstrats und dessen Verwendung in einem fluorometrischen Neuraminidase-Assay eingesetzt. [2]
Neuraminidase wird als Sonde zur Bestimmung der Glykokonjugatverteilung auf der Zelloberfläche und in Untersuchungen der Substratspezifität verwendet.
Biochem/physiol Actions
Neuraminidase aus Vibrio cholerae trägt durch die Toxinbindung und Begünstigung der Toxinaufnahme durch Zellen nachweislich zur Förderung von Choleratoxin-Infektionen bei. [1]
