General description
(+)-Etomoxir Natriumsalzhydrat gehört zur Gruppe der Oxiran-Carbonsäure-Verbindungen und vermittelt die Metabolit-Kanalisierung von Vorstufen der Fettsäuren. Es begünstigt oxidativen Stress in T-Zellen und verhindert die T-Zell-Differenzierung. Es verhindert die Fettsäureoxidation und fördert das Hungergefühl und die Nahrungsaufnahme.[1] Etomoxir beeinträchtigt MDSC-(myeloide Suppresorzellen)-vermittelte Tumoren und hat möglicherweise therapeutisches Potenzial.
Application
(+)-Etomoxir Natriumsalzhydrat wurde als Inhibitor der Carnitin-Palmitoyltransferase 1 (CPT-1) in Brustkrebszelllinien und Mäusetumoren verwendet. Außerdem wurde es als Inhibitor der Fettsäureoxidaton in primären humanen Prostataepithelzellen und Lymphozyten eingesetzt.
