Biochem/physiol Actions
Metabolit im Cystein und Methionin Metabolismus, wichtiges Intermediat im Mercaptopyruvat-Stoffwechselweg, bei dem Cystein- oder Aspartat-Transaminase die Transaminierung von Cystein zu 3-Mercaptopyruvat katalysiert und anschliessend 3-Mercaptopyruvat-Sulfurtransferase die Transsulfurierung von 3-Mercaptopyruvat zu Pyruvat katalysiert. Dieser Prozess trägt dazu bei den zellulären Redox-Status zu erhalten[1]. Es ist ein Substrat für L-Lactat-Dehydrogenase A-Kette, 3-Mercaptopyruvat-Sulfurtransferase, Aspartat-Aminotransferase (mitochondrial), L-Lactat-Dehydrogenase C-Kette, L-Lactat-Dehydrogenase A-like 6A, Aspartat-Aminotransferase (zytoplasmatisch), L-Lactat-Dehydrogenase B-Kette und L-Lactat-Dehydrogenase A-like 6B.
