General description
Hämatoxylin ist ein basophiler Farbstoff, der aus dem Baum Heamatoxylum campechianum extrahiert wird. Es bindet spezifisch an saure Verbindungen und eignet sich daher zum Färben von Zellkernen, die saure Stoffe enthalten: DNA und RNA. Hämatoxylin bildet bei Oxidation Hämatein, das eine dicke, blassblau-violette Färbung aufweist. Hämatoxylin wird häufig zusammen mit Eosin in lichtmikroskopischen histologischen Studien verwendet.
Application
Zertifiziert für den Einsatz in Weigert′s Eisenhämatoxylin, Mayer′s Hämalaun, Harris Hämalaun und in Heidenhain′s-Technik
Hämatoxylin hat folgende Anwendungen:
- Visualisieren anatomischer Strukturen und Erkennen des blauen Kerns (Locus coeruleus) neben dem periaquäduktalen Grau in Hirnstammproben
- Gegenfärbung für Zellkerne Gegenfärben von Adipozyten mit einem Hämatoxylin-Reagens zur Visualisierung des Zellkerns
- Färben von Lungengewebe für die histologische Analyse
