Membranen-undurchlässiger DNA-Interkalator. Hat bei 488 nm eine rote Fluoreszenz. Nützlich für die Färbung apoptotischer Zellen und Zellkerne mittels Durchflusszytometrie. Kann für die Differenzierung zwischen apoptoschen und nekrotischen Zelltod verwendet werden. Kann zusammen mit den üblichen mit Fluoresceinisothiocyanat markierten grünfluoreszenten Sonden verwendet werden. Hat folgende spektrale Eigenschaften: Extinktionskoeffizient: 5.900 M^-1cm^-1 (493 nm); 55.700 M^-1cm^-1 (287 nm); 13.800 M^-1cm^-1 (252,5 nm); Exzitationsmaximum: 536 nm; Emissionsmaximum: 617 nm.

Preparation Note

Nach der Rekonstitution in Aliquote aufteilen und einfrieren (-20 °;C). Stammlösungen sind bei -20 °;C bis zu 6 Monate haltbar.

Zur Verbesserung der Löslichkeit kann das Material zuerst in einer sehr kleinen Menge DMSO aufgelöst und anschließend in eine wässrige Lösung gegeben werden.
