Beschreibung

General description

Das racemische Gemisch eines zellpermeablen Adenin-Derivats, das als PDE II-selektiver Phosphodiesterase-Inhibitor (IC50 = 0,8 bzw. 2 µ;M gegen menschliches bzw. Schweine-PDE II) und Adenosin-Deaminase (K_i = 4 nM) fungiert und zugleich nur wenig oder stark reduzierte Wirksamkeit gegenüber PDE I/II/IV-Isozymen (IC50 >;100 µ;M) von menschlichen und Schweine-Spezies aufweist. Bei einer Konzentration von 10 µ;M blockiert EHNA zudem gemäß Berichten effektiv und reversibel die Differenzierung und bewahrt die Pluripotenz der hES-Zelllinie SA121 (menschliche embryonale Stammzellen) in Feeder-freien Kulturen ohne exogen hinzugefügtes FGF über bis zu 30 Durchgänge hinweg, unabhängig von seiner bekannten ADA- und PDE-hemmenden Wirkung.
