Beschreibung

General description

Glycogen ist ein verzweigtes Glucosepolymer, das von tierischen Zellen zur Energiespeicherung und -freisetzung synthetisiert wird. Es ist hauptsächlich durch α1→4-glycosidische Bindungen mit Verzweigungen durch α1→6-glycosidische Bindungen aufgebaut.

Application

Glycogen, a starch analogue, is added to polyacrylamide gels for starch phosphorylase activity aβays were it acts as a substrate for starch phosphorylase degradation. [1]
