Cloprostenol is a synthetic analogue of prostaglandin F2α (PGF). Cloprostenol contributes to the induction of estrus in animals and has uterotonic activity. Cloprostenol induces abortion in animals.

Application

(+/-)-Cloprostenol sodium salt hydrate has been used in studying its influence in oestrus synchronisation and uterine development in mice.

Cloprostenol ist ein starker FP-Prostanoid-Rezeptor-Agonist.

Cloprostenol ist ein starker FP-Prostanoid-Rezeptor-Agonist. Es besitzt die 2- bis 3-fache Stärke von Fluprostenol, ist aber weniger selektiv. Die Stärke von Cloprostenol ähnelt derjenigen von PGF_2α an EP- und TP-Prostanoid-Rezeptoren. Es wird für die Behandlung von Unfruchtbarkeit bei Sauen und Jungsauen verwendet.
