If there is no retest or expiration date listed on the product's COA, we do not have suitable stability data to determine a shelf life. For these products, the only date on the COA will be the release date; a retest, expiration, or use-by-date will not be displayed.
For all products, we recommend handling per defined conditions as printed in our product literature and website product descriptions. We recommend that products should be routinely inspected by customers to ensure they perform as expected.
For products without retest or expiration dates, our standard warranty of 1 year from the date of shipment is applicable.

Application
Der Griess-Assay ist eine der populärsten und einfachsten Methoden zur Bestimmung der NO-Konzentration. Der Griess-Assay beruht auf der Azokupplung von Diazonium-Spezies, die durch Sulfanilamid mit NO2 und Naphthylethylendiamin entstehen. Das NO2/NO3-Assay-Kit enthält diese Farbstoffe, eine Nitratreduktase, einen Enzym-Cofaktor, eine Pufferlösung und Standardlösungen von NO2 und NO3. Die Gesamtzahl an NO-Metaboliten ist daher mit diesem Kit leicht zu bestimmen. Der geeignete NO2-Detektionsbereich reicht von 10 bis 100 μM.

Are the culture media, DMEM/F12 and DMEM, suitable for this assay kit? Is it recommended to use media with or without FCS when using the kit?

Avoid cell culture media containing NO3, such as Fe(NO)3 present in DMEM/F12. Centrifuge cell or tissue culture media at 1000 * g for 15 minutes to remove insoluble material. Collect the supernatant for testing. Serum or plasma should be centrifuged in an Amicon® Ultra-4 Centrifugal Filter Unit with Ultracel®-10
membrane (7000 * g, 4 °C, 20 minutes) to remove hemoglobin and proteins. Please see the link below to review the product Technical Bulletin:

How is shipping temperature determined? And how is it related to the product storage temperature?

Products may be shipped at a different temperature than the recommended long-term storage temperature. If the product quality is sensitive to short-term exposure to conditions other than the recommended long-term storage, it will be shipped on wet or dry-ice. If the product quality is NOT affected by short-term exposure to conditions other than the recommended long-term storage, it will be shipped at ambient temperature. As shipping routes are configured for minimum transit times, shipping at ambient temperature helps control shipping costs for our customers. Can I use a frozen cell culture supernatant or must it be obtained on the same day for the assay?
1 answer-
When using frozen samples, it is recommended to thaw the samples completely, mix well by vortexing and centrifuge prior to use to remove particulates. Note that cell culture medium that contains NO3- as a component (such as RPMI-1640) are not a suitable to detect [NO3- + NO2-]. However, NO2- in the culture medium can be determined using this kit.
