General description
Ponceau S ist das Natriumsalz eines Diazo-Farbstoffs. Ponceau-S-Lösung ist ein geeignetes Reagens zur Verwendung in Elektrophoreseuntersuchungen. Die Ponceau-S-Färbung wird gebrauchsfertig geliefert und ist für die schnelle (5 min) Färbung von Proteinbanden auf Nitrocellulose- oder PVDF-Membranen (Western Blot) sowie zum Färben von Protein auf Celluloseacetat-Membranen konzipiert. Es kann als Färbemittel für das aufgereinigte fibrinolytische Enzym (CK) zur Analyse der N-terminalen Aminosäuren der ersten 14 Reste von CK durch einen Proteinsequenzer eingesetzt werden. Die Ponceau-S-Färbung auf Nitrocellulose und PVDF ist durch Waschen der gefärbten Membran mit 0,1 M NaOH für 1 Minute reversibel. Die gefärbte und entfärbte Membran kann anschließend immunologisch nachgewiesen werden (Western Blot). Ein bereitgestelltes Produktinformationsblatt enthält das Färbungsverfahren für Celluloseacetat, Nitrocellulose und PVDF.
