Fura 2 pentapotassium salt (fura-2) is a fluorescent ratiometric Ca²⁺ dye.[1] Fura 2 pentapotassium salt (fura-2) helps to estimate the level of cytosolic Ca(²⁺) by determining the emission found at 510 nm after alternating excitation at 340 nm and 380 nm (F340/F380 ratio).[1] Hence, it is considered as the standard for quantitative intracellular calcium measurements.
