Application
Rinderserumalbumin wird verwendet:

- als Bestandteil von Ca2+-freier Kochsalzlösung (mit Kollagenase, Hyaluronidase und DNAse) für den Verdau von Rindergewebe
Biochem/physiol Actions
Bestimmte konformative und Primärsequenz-Epitope von BSA sind vermutete Allergene bei Menschen mit Rindfleisch- und Milchallergien.

Serumalbumin kann auch als Fraktion V bezeichnet werden. Diese Bezeichnungskonvention stammt aus der ursprünglichen Cohn-Methode zur Fraktionierung von Serumproteinen mittels kalter Ethanolfällung. Serumalbumin wurde in der fünften Ethanolfraktion bei der Cohn′schen Methode gefunden. Seither wird Serumalbumin von manchen als „Fraktion V“ bezeichnet, gleichgültig wie es gewonnen wurde. Andere verwenden diese Bezeichnung für Serumalbumin, das durch Ethanolfraktionierungsmethoden gewonnen wurde, die stark modifiziert wurden, seit die ursprüngliche Cohn-Methode beschrieben wurde. Sigma-Aldrich produziert und vertreibt Serumalbumine, die unter Anwendung verschiedener Primärmethoden, einschließlich der ursprünglichen Cohn-Fraktionierungsmethode, modifizierter Ethanolfraktionierungsmethoden, Hitzeschockfraktionierung und Chromatographie aufgereinigt wurden. Weitere Aufbereitungsschritte umfassen ggf. Kristallisierung oder Aktivkohlefiltration.

After reconstitution in PBS, for how long is the protein stable in solution if stored at 4°C or -20*C?

Prepared BSA solution products also available for purchase. These products have a shelf life ranging from 18 months to 2 years. Many are assigned a restest schedule with no firm expiration date. These products are prepared in saline, DPBS, or Tris. These solutions are filtered products and offered in a range of concentrations. The storage recommendation for these products is 2 - 8 deg. C. In addition, BSA is often used as a carrier protein for less stable compounds that are stored frozen. While there is no established shelf life for a BSA solution stored frozen, it is quite stable. See the link below for a sample Certificate of Analysis for one of the BSA solutions.

Does this BSA have bovine immunoglobulins?

This product does contain bovine immunoglobulins. BSA products that do not contain immunoglobulins will state "globulin-free" or "essentially globulin-free" on the product detail page. Product A3156 is an example of an immunoglobulin free BSA product.

We have not tested the use of A7906 in ELISA. Because the remainder of the product is mostly globulins, we would not suggest A7906 for ELISA use.

We have not ourselves tested A7906 for use in immunohistochemistry. However, a literature search can turn up publications that cite this use, such as this paper: Surendran, K., et al., Wnt-Dependent Beta-Catenin Signaling Is Activated after Unilateral Ureteral Obstruction, and Recombinant Secreted Frizzled-Related Protein 4 Alters the Progression of Renal Fibrosis.
