Beschreibung

General description

Membranpermeabler, gelber Farbstoff, der in lebenden Zellen durch mitochondriale Reduktasen reduziert wird und das dunkelblaue Produkt MTT-Formazan bildet. Die spektrophotometrische Messung von MTT-Formazan bei 540 oder 570 nm ermöglicht die Quantifizierung der Lebensfähigkeit der Zellen. Wird als direkter Indikator für Zytotoxizität (z. B. beim Krebsmedikamenten-Screening) und Apoptose verwendet. Ein Elektronenakzeptor, der zur Untersuchung von NADP-abhängigen Dehydrogenasen verwendet wird.
