General description

Ein zellpermeables Phenoxyessigsäurederivat, das als potenter und selektiver Peroxisom-Proliferator-Aktivator-Rezeptor-Agonist δ; (PPARδ;) wirkt (K_i = 6 nM für hPPARδ; und 730 nM für hPPARγ;). Induziert bei 500 nM die Adipozytendifferenzierung in NIH-PPARδ;-Zellen. Gemäß Berichten erhöht es das Gesamtcholesterin in insulinresistenten db/db-Mäusen, ohne den Glukose- oder Triglyzeridspiegel zu verändern. Erhöht die Genexpression des Uncoupling Proteins 3 (UCP3) in L6-Myotuben. Hemmt nachweislich auch die Zytokin-induzierte Expression des vaskulären Zelladhäsionsmoleküls 1 (VCAM-1) und die Sekretion von des Monozyten-chemotaktischen Proteins 1 (MCP-1) in EAhy926-Zellen.
