This product is not tested for solubility. However, other Protamine sulfate products currently available are dissolved initially in 6N Hydrochloric acid at 25 mg/mL. This stock solution may then be diluted out with aqueous buffer or medium. In addition, a brief search of the literature reveals that this material may also be prepared by dissolving in HPLC grade water to a concentration of 10mg/ml. A stock solution was diluted to a final working concentration in growth media of 10?g/ml and stored at -20°C. This information has not been validated.

General description
Protaminsulfat ist ein kationisches Polypeptid mit einem Molekulargewicht von 5 kDa, das aus Lachssperma isoliert wird.
Application
Protaminsulfat wurde verwendet bei der Transduktion von
- Lentiviren in humane embryonale 293T-Zellen[1]
- shRNA in mesenchymale Stammzellen/Stromazellen des Knochenmarks (MSC)
- Lenti-Sca1-OCT4-Plasmid in hämatopoetische CD34+-Vorläuferzellen aus menschlichem Nabelschnurblut
Biochem/physiol Actions
Alkalisches Protamin bindet an negativ geladenes Heparin. Die Verwendung von Protamin bei operativen Eingriffen am Herz-Kreislauf kann anaphylaktische Reaktionen auslösen.
Protamin unterstützt die direkte Transfektion von mikrobiellen Zellen sowie menschlichen Zellen mittels kationischen Liposomen. Die Antikoagulationswirkung von Heparin wird von Protamin effektiv neutralisiert.
