Application

NF 023 hydrate has been used as an inhibitor of methyltransferases.[1] It has also been used to test its inhibitory effect on human adenovirus type-37 (HAdV-D37) viral infection in human corneal epithelial (HCE) cells.[2]

Biochem/physiol Actions

NF 023 contains six benzene rings and is a suramin analog.[2] It is a potent, competitive, and selective P2X purinoceptor antagonist[3] that aids in discriminating between P2X receptor subtypes.[3]
