Hydrocortisone 17-butyrate may be used:

• in the synthesis of hydrocortisone butyrate (HB)-loaded poly(d,l-lactic-co-glycolic acid) (PLGA) nanoparticles[1]
• as a topical corticosteroid (CS) to study its effects on keratinocyte proliferation in hyperproliferant keratinocytes (HaCaT) model[2]
• in the preparation of solid lipid nanoparticles (SLN)[3]

Hydrocortisone 17-butyrate is a corticosteroid[4] that acts as a dermocorticoid due to its application in dermatological therapy.[5] It exhibits therapeutic effects against vitiligo of the face and neck.[6]
