General description
Gellangummi von Gelrite wird anstelle von Agar als Geliermittel in mikrobiologischen Assays und Gewebekulturmedien empfohlen. Gellangummi wird in einem breiten Spektrum von Immobilisierungsmatrizen eingesetzt. Es bildet bei geringen Konzentrationen in Gegenwart eines Elektrolyten ein hartes Gel. Gellan ist eine lineare Tetrasaccharidverbindung aus D-Glucose, L-Rhamnose und D-Glucuronsäure in einem Verhältnis von 2:1:1, die durch eine β (1 → 4)-glycosidische Bindung verbunden sind.
Application
Gellangummi von Gelrite wird anstelle von Agar als Geliermittel in mikrobiologischen Medien empfohlen. Gellangummi wird in vielen verschiedenen Immobilisierungsmatrices eingesetzt.
Gelzan™ CM wird wie folgt verwendet:
- bei der Synthese von Gellan-Pullulan-Nanogel durch chemische Vernetzung
- bei der Synthese von Gellan-Pullan-Hydrogel
- mit KNOP-Medium zum Erhalten und Vorbereiten einer Anthoceros agrestis-Thallusgewebeprobe für die Bildgebung

The purity of this gelling agent is not determined. This material is a complex polysaccharide comprised of glucose, rhamnose, and glucuronic acid in the approximate molar ratio of 2:1:1. In addition to the base components, historical ICP analysis shows trace amounts of Calcium, Magnesium, Potassium, Phosphate, and Sodium. The maximum moisture content for this product is 16%.
