General description
Doxycyclinhyclat, ein synthetisches Tetracyclin-Antibiotikum, weist eine antimikrobielle Breitspektrum-Aktivität gegen verschiedene Bakterien durch Bindung an die 30S- und möglicherweise die 50S-Ribosomenuntereinheiten auf. Diese Bindung unterbricht die Bindung von Aminoacyl-tRNA an den mRNA-Ribosom-Komplex und hemmt so effektiv die bakterielle Proteinsynthese, wodurch Wachstum und Replikation gestoppt werden.
Neben seinen antimikrobiellen Effekten dient Dioxycyclinhyclat als Inhibitor von Matrix-Metallproteinasen (MMPs), d. h. Enzymen, die für den Kollagenabbau im Bindegewebe entscheidend sind. Studien zu Hornhauterosion und rheumatoider Arthritis zeigen, dass der MMP-9- bzw. MMP-8-Spiegel signifikant verringert ist. Application
Doxycyclinhyclat wurde zur Induktion von Gliomzellen und humanen embryonalem Nierenzellen 293T (HEK293T) verwendet.
Doxycyclinhyclat ist ein synthetisches Oxytetracyclin-Derivat. Es wurde zur Eliminierung von Borrelia burgdorferi und Anaplasma phagocytophilum in Nagerreservoiren und zur Eliminierung von Ixodes scapularis-Zecken eingesetzt[1]. Es ist ein Breitspektrumhemmer, der zur Hemmung von Matrixmetallproteinasen[2] (MMP) wie Typ-1-Collagenase in Wundheilungs- und Gewebeumbaustudien eingesetzt wird.
