- Zur Untersuchung der Hochregulierung des Gens ERG11, das in Candida-Spezies bei einer Behandlung mit Azol-Antibiotika ein Azol-Zielenzym Lanosteroldemethylase codiert[1]
- Zur Untersuchung der Resistenzentwicklung in Candida-Spezies, die aus Patienten, die sich einer langzeitigen antimykotischen Behandlung unterziehen, isoliert wurden[2]
- Zum Auslösen von Stresskörperchen durch Mitochrondrienstress[3][4]
- Zur Hemmung der In-vitro-Bildung von Sichelzellen mit hoher Dichte, eingeleitet durch die Behandlung mit 1-Chlor-2,4-dinitrobenzol (CDNB)[5]
- Zur Hemmung von Cytochrom P450 in Zellkulturen[6]
Biochem/physiol Actions
Clotrimazol ist ein spezifischer Inhibitor von Ca2+-aktivierten K+Kanälen.[7] Es ist ein antimykotisches Azol. Clotrimazol ist ein Derivat von Imidazol und weist eine ähnliche antimikrobielle Wirkung und Aktivität auf wie Ketocanazol.[8] Es hemmt die Cytochrom-P450-abhängige 14α-Demethylase, die wesentlich für die Ergosterolbiosynthese ist. Die akkumulierten 14α-methylierten Sterole ändern die Membranstruktur empfindlicher Pilze und somit die Zellmembranpermeabilität.
