General description
Napsin ist eine pepsinartige Asparaginproteinase im A1-Stamm der AA-Gruppe von Proteinasen. Es gibt zwei eng verwandte Napsine, Napsin A und Napsin B. Napsin A wird als Einzelkettenprotein mit einem Molekulargewicht von etwa 38 kDa exprimiert. Immunhistochemische Studien haben hohe Expressionsstufen von Napsin A in der menschlichen Lunge und Niere gezeigt, jedoch niedrige Expression in der Milz. Napsin A wird in Typ-II-Pneumozyten und in Adenokarzinomen der Lunge exprimiert. Die hohe Spezifität der Expression von Napsin A in Adenokarzinomen der Lunge ist hilfreich bei der Abgrenzung von primären Lungenadenokarzinomen und Adenokarzinomen anderer Organe.1-5
