Beschreibung

General description

Aflatoxins are a group of hypertoxic secondary metabolites produced by fungi of the genus Aspergillus, mostly A. flavus, A. Parasiticus, and A. nomius. Of the 20 aflatoxins identified so far, B₁, B₂, G₁, and G₂ are the four naturally occurring aflatoxins. Aflatoxin B₁-¹³C₁₇ is the ¹³C isotope-labeled analog of mycotoxin, aflatoxin B₁.

Application

Aflatoxin B₁-¹³C₁₇ may be used as an internal standard for the determination of aflatoxin B₁ in food grade gums,[1] Pu-erh tea samples, animal feedmilk, milk-based infant formula, and feed samples by stable isotope dilution and liquid chromatography combined with tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS).
