Application

Verwendung als selektives Anreicherungsmedium für die Isolierung von Salmonella-Spezies aus Nahrungsmitteln und Umweltproben.

Preparation Note

Suspend 30.0 g in 1 litre distilled water. Heat gently if necessary to dissolve the medium completely. Dispense as desired into tubes and sterilize by autoclaving at 115°C for 15 minutes.

  1. How to validate RV broth recovery and efficiency if autoclaved at 121

    1. The Rappaport Vassiliadis Broth with catalog no. 17173 has been validated for growth when autoclaved at 115 °C and not 121 °C for 15 minutes. We cannot confirm if the medium will perform as stated in the specification sheet available on our website if a different autoclaving temperature is applied as the medium is heat-sensitive.

      Should you wish to perform a validation of the performance of the medium after autoclaving it at 121°C, I would recommend performing growth promotion tests as listed in the datasheet to check for growth of the different strains listed therein.
