Beschreibung

General description

Native troponin I purified from human heart. Inhibitory subunit of troponin that binds to actin in the absence of Ca²⁺, thus inhibiting the ATPase activity of actomyosin. Presence of hcTnI in plasma has been used for early detection of myocardial infarction. Useful as a standard in immunoassay and as an immunogen for antisera production. Also useful as a tracer for iodination.

Physical form

Lyophilized from 10 mM HCl.

Preparation Note

Following reconstitution, aliquot and freeze (-20°C). Stock solutions are stable for up to 6 months at -20°C.

Prepared from tissue of individuals that have been shown by certified tests to be negative for HBsAg and for antibodies to HIV and HCV.
