Beschreibung

General description

Einer der polyphenolischen Hauptbestandteile von grünem Tee, der starke entzündungshemmende Antioxidans- und Anti-Tumor-Eigenschaften aufweist. Stoppt den Zellzyklus in der G₀/G₁-Phase und induziert dosisabhängig Apoptose. Hemmt nachweislich die PMA-induzierte Hautverdickung und führt zu Aktivierung von Proteinkinase C, Aktivierung von Ornithin-Decarboxylase und Aktivierung der Interleukin-1α;-mRNA- und Proteinexpression. Fungiert als Inhibitor der induzierbaren Stickstoffmonoxid-Synthase-Genexpression (iNOS) und -Enzymaktivität. Blockiert zudem die Peroxynitrit-vermittelte Bildung von 8-Oxodeoxyguanosin und 3-Nitrotyrosin. Hemmt zudem stark und direkt Telomerase in zellfreien Systemen und Krebszelllinien. Ein Inhibitor von Dnmt1 (IC₅₀ = 210-470 nM). Fungiert als selektiver, nicht konkurrierender Inhibitor der HAT-Aktivität (IC₅₀ = 30, 50, 60 und 70 µ;M für p300, CBP, PCAF und TIP60) mit minimalen Auswirkungen auf HDAC, SIRT und HMTase.
