General description

Cysteine protease inhibitor. Selectively inhibits cathepsin B (k₂/K_i = 1.0 x 10⁴ M^-1sec^-1), cathepsin L (k₂/K_i = 1.5 x 10⁵ M^-1sec^-1), cathepsin S (k₂/Ki = 6.6 x 10⁴ M^-1sec^-1), and papain (k₂/K_i = 1.0 x 10³ M^-1sec^-1). Half-life in buffered solution (pH 5-9) = 37 h (30°C); 300 h (0°C).
