Biochem/physiol Actions

Wirkungsweise: Hemmt die Zellwandsynthese (Bildung von D-Ala-Peptidbindungen). Verhindert die Umwandlung von D-Ala in L-Ala. Bakteriostatisch.
Partialagonist an der Glycinmodulatorstelle von glutamatergen NMDA-Rezeptoren; Antibiotikum gegen gramnegative Bakterien.
Wirkungsweise der Resistenz: D-Ala-Transportinterferenz.
