Application

PIM2, active, GST tagged human has been used for in vitro kinase assay in study of PIM kinases role in fms-like tyrosine kinase 3 inhibitors (FLT3i)-resistant acute myeloid leukemia.[1]

Biochem/physiol Actions

PIM2 (proto-oncogene) is a serine threonine kinase that is present in all tissues, being most abundant in hematopoietic tissues, testis, small instestine and colon, as well as in spleen and thymus. It is highly expressed in human leukemic, lymphoma and colorectal adenocarcinoma cell lines. This suggests a role for PIM2 in proliferating cells and during meiosis.[2] PIM2 acts as a pro-survival kinase and BAD (BCL2 associated agonist of cell death) protein is a PIM2 substrate.[3]

Physical form

Supplied in 50 mM Tris-HCl, pH 7.5, with 150 mM NaCl, 0.2 5mM DTT, 0.1 mM EGTA, 0.1 mM EDTA, 0.1 mM PMSF, and 25% glycerol.
