General description

2′-Deoxyadenosine 5′-triphosphate (dATP) is made up of a nucleobase attached to deoxyribose and a 5′-hydroxyl on the sugar bound to a chain of three phosphate residues. dATP is used by cells for synthesis of DNA by DNA polymerases.

Application

2′-Deoxyadenosine 5′-triphosphate sodium salt solution has been used in the detection of apoptotic cells by the terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase dUTP nick end labeling (TUNEL) technique. It has also been used to induce oligomerization of apoptotic protease activating factor-1 (Apaf-1) to form a large heptameric complex referred to as the apoptosome or Apaf-1 procaspase-9 apoptosome complex and to study its functions as a proteolytic-based molecular timer.[1]
2′-Deoxyadenosine 5′-triphosphate sodium salt solution is used in DNA sysnthesis reactions such as PCR, DNA sequencing and molecular cloning techniques.

Other Notes

T4 DNA Ligaes is supplied in a solution containing 20 mM Tris-HCl(ph 7.5), 50mM KCl, 1mM DTT, and 50% (v/v) glycerol
