General description

Tetramethylrhodamine isothiocyanate–Dextran, also known as TRITC-Dextran or TRITC-Dextran 500, is a fluorescent dye and a novel drug. The fluorescent activity of TRITC-Dextran is detected at 555nm wavelength. [1]The TRITC-Dextran molecules are released in the cells through passive diffusion due to a concentration gradient.[2]

Application

Tetramethylrhodamine isothiocyanate–Dextran (TRITC-Dextran 500) is use as a fluorescent probe to study cell processes such as cell permeability, phagocytosis and endocytosis and to study mechanisms of biomolecular delivery.
