Application
Indoxyl acetate:
- has been used to prepare free indoxyl for fermentor feeds and for in vitro 3-deoxy-D-arabino-heptulosonate 7-phosphate (DAHP) synthase inactivation assays[1]
- may be used as the potential substrate for the evaluation of carbonic anhydrases (CAs) esterase activity[2]
- may be used to prepare indoxyl acetate differential disk to evaluate the indoxyl acetate hydrolysis test for the differentiation of Campylobacter species[3]
Biochem/physiol Actions
Indoxyl acetate (IA) can be used as a substrate to detect acetylcholinesterase (AChE) activity. It may also have the potential to be used as a suitable substrate for fast and easy detection of lipase activity.[4]

Forty-two Helicobacter isolates were isolated from swine feces in The Netherlands and Denmark. All 12 isolates sequenced (16S rRNA gene) formed a robust clade with Helicobacter canadensis ( approximately 99% similarity). Species-specific PCR indicated that all of the isolates were

The present study analyzed the prevalence and molecular characterization of Campylobacter at different processing steps in poultry slaughterhouses to determine where contamination mainly occurs. A total of 1,040 samples were collected at four different stages (preprocessing cloacal swabs, postevisceration, postwashing
