A solução de insulina humana foi usada para teste de tolerância de insulina em camundongos e ratos.[1][2] Ela também foi usada para diferenciação adipogênica de culturas de crescimento derivadas de células-tronco embrionárias humanas (hESCs) e células estromais mesenquimais humanas (hMSCs).[3][4]

For research applications, freezing insulin solution has been a common pratice. However, solutions available on the commercial market for therapeutic use are never frozen, in order to maintain maximum activity.
